PeerNotes was founded in 2026 by Ethan Liu, a junior saxophonist at Northview High School in Georgia. After years of developing his craft on alto and tenor saxophone — through school ensembles, competitions, and countless hours of practice — Ethan wanted to give something back.
He noticed the hardest part of learning an instrument isn't the technique. It's getting through those first few months without someone who truly gets it guiding you. A peer who remembers the same frustrations, the same breakthroughs, and the same early excitement.
PeerNotes started with saxophone and is growing to welcome instructors across all instruments. Every session is free. Every instructor is a fellow student who loves what they play.
We start with saxophone and expand as our instructor team grows. All instruments welcome.
